Direct to chip
Direct to Chip cooling involves the use of cold plates placed directly onto the chips (CPUs or GPUs) within a server.
These plates are part of a closed-loop system where a coolant circulates, absorbing heat directly from the source and dissipating it as it flows through a heat exchanger or radiator.
Immersion
In immersion cooling, entire servers are submerged in a thermally conductive but electrically insulating liquid.
The heat generated by the electronic components is transferred directly to the liquid, which is then circulated to a heat exchanger to disperse the heat.
Rear door
This method involves fitting a heat exchanger to the rear door of a server rack.
Hot air from the servers is directed through the exchanger, which contains circulating liquid coolant, effectively removing heat before the air exits the rack.
